"Live music, a room full of little ones, and a reason to be out of the house on a weekday morning."

MA-CSE OISE · University of Toronto

If you're raising a little one in Midtown Toronto, some days feel long — and a weekly music class is one of the easiest, happiest ways to break them up. The studio is about fifteen minutes up Avenue Road or the Allen, an easy trip from Davisville, Yonge & Eglinton and Forest Hill.

Every class is played live on guitar — no recordings, no screens — with singing, rainbow scarves, floating bubbles, the big parachute, and a basket of instruments everyone gets to play. There's real child-development thinking behind it (I have a Masters in Child Study and Education from OISE), but mostly it's just a good morning out: somewhere warm to be, a few other parents to talk to, and a happily worn-out little one by lunch.

Come try a single class first — no commitment. Most families end up booking the whole session.

What a class actually feels like

Live guitar, start to finish

Real music played in the room — hello songs, old favourites, and the silly ones your little one will be humming all week. Nothing pre-recorded.

Bubbles, scarves & parachute

Floating bubbles, rainbow scarves, light spinners, and the parachute we finish with — reliably the loudest part of the morning.

An instrument for everyone

Maracas, shakers, and drums for every set of hands — small groups, paced to your child, so even the newest babies are right in the middle of it.

Parents say it best

★★★★★

"Rockin with Rach has easily been one of my favourite parts of mat leave! Rachel is warm, engaging, and incredibly talented, and the babies are OBSESSED with her! The classes are full of positive energy, and she's created such a welcoming environment — just as enjoyable for the parents as it is for the babies."

Talia Pearlman

★★★★★

"We started going when my daughter was 6 months old and kept going right up to 18 months — she absolutely loved it. Rachel makes such an effort to learn every baby's name and truly engages with each child, which makes the classes feel so personal. It honestly became the highlight of our week."

Danielle Rush

★★★★★

"Brought my 12 week old to Rachel's class this morning and it was the most fun I've had on mat leave so far! Rachel has a beautiful voice, lots of fun toys, and the moms were so welcoming to me as a new mom in the neighbourhood. Get out to a class asap!"

Ilana Kraus

★★★★★

"Rockin with Rach has been such a highlight of my mat leave with my twin boys! Rachel is incredibly talented and her songs are so engaging. She creates a full sensory experience for the kids with music and movement, and it's a great place to meet other moms in an inclusive environment."

Sydney Seidel

★★★★★

"Of course it's entertaining for babies, with the music, bubbles, toys, and lights. But it's also a genuinely welcoming space for moms to connect and support each other. As a mom herself, Rachel truly understands what we're all going through. It should be part of your mat leave plans!"

Jamie Berns

★★★★★

"My son loves Rachel's classes! He is mesmerized by her guitar playing and constantly entertained by each action-packed class. As a mom, I'm grateful for the class schedule, convenient location and parking, and flexible make-up policy."

Naomi Rosenfeld

★★★★★

"I've been to a bunch of Rachel's classes with both my almost 2 year old and my 4 year old. Both kids show up shy and by the end they're dancing around the room and I can't get them to leave. She puts a lot of thought and love into every class and it shows. Highly recommend!"

Bailey Albert

★★★★★

"We recently hired Rachel for my son's first birthday party! It is hard to keep little kids and adults' attention for 45 minutes — she had a room of 60 people engaged the whole time! Beautiful voice and high energy. Highly recommend."

Lauren B

★★★★★

"We booked Rachel for our daughter's 5th birthday, and both the kids and parents had so much fun! Our daughter is usually slow to warm up to new people, but she felt comfortable with Rachel right away. They were singing, dancing, and laughing throughout the whole class."

Hilary Davidson

★★★★★

"Rachel's Shabbat class was such a great time! It was super inclusive and had such a warm, welcoming vibe. My little one and I had so much fun singing and partying along to the amazing songs — it's the kind of class that just makes you feel happy and connected. We can't wait to go back!"

Jordana Merrick-Eker

★★★★★

"I'd have 10 kids back to back if it meant seeing Rachel every mat leave. 10/10, no notes!"

Common questions

Most weekly classes run at my North York studio, near Bathurst & Sheppard — an easy trip for Midtown Toronto families — and some run at other spots around the city. Whereabouts each class is happening is listed right on it when you book, and I'll send the exact address once you're in.

They're designed for little ones from 0 to 3, though older siblings are always welcome. The room is set up so the newest babies and the busiest toddlers are both right in the middle of it.

Absolutely — start with a single weekly class, no commitment. It's the easiest way to see whether it's a fit.

Yes — I bring the whole live-music party to homes and venues. Have a look at the private events page for what's included.

Just comfy clothes and grippy socks for little feet — I bring everything else: guitar, instruments, scarves, bubbles and the big parachute.
